| Notes | He was a 30 year old miner when he enlisted in to the Tunnelling Company - Officers and October to December Reinforcements (October-December 1916) He won his MM on the 04/10/1918: 'During the operation against the Hinderburg Line on the Morning of the 20th September, in the neighbourhood of Bellicourt, he was engaged with a party searching for enemy mines. Sapper Kennedy removed serveral dangeroud booby traps from dugouts and assisted in the capture of many prisoners. He also detected and removed a large number of road mines. The whole of the day he worked under heavy shell and machine gunfire, during which 50% of his party became casualities.' |
