Parents: Rosine Frances & James Henry Walker, drover of Eastfield Station
Delivered by Dr Laura Weir (one of five female doctors registered to Muttaburra District Hospital from the early 1900’s). Before the maternity ward was built in 1925, mothers were delivered of their babies at home – hence Ethel Frances Walker was delivered ‘in house’ on Bridge St – Rosine Walker had come into town from Eastfield for the birth of her daughter.
Dr Laura Weir served the Muttaburra district as resident GP on 3 separate occasions:
