MRS. AMY JACK 94 TO-DAY
ALTHOUGH she has been without her eyesight for 12 years, Mrs. Amy Jack, who will celebrate her 94th birthday to-day, remains bright and cheerful. Born at Cinder Ford, Forest of Dean, Gloucester Shire, in 1844, she was married in 1869, and after her husband’s death in 1881 she came to Brisbane, arriving in 1886 with her two sons, Messrs. E. M Jack, now of Paddington, and S. W Jack, of Annerley.
Mrs. Jack spent some years .in Bundaberg and Gin Gin, and also in Muttaburra, where she was matron of the hospital. She was an active worker for the Red Cross Society in the war and a member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union.
