Died from Appendicitis

The Western Champion and General Advertiser for the Central-Western Districts Saturday 2 October 1909
I have very sad news to record this week. Quite a gloom has been cast over our little town on account of the very sudden death of Mr. A.W. Clemesha, eldest son of Mr. S. Clemesha. The poor lad took ill about a fortnight ago with measles. He recovered from these only partly and had a relapse. Last Thursday week his case was pronounced as acute appendicitis, and on Sunday Dr. Michod (Longreach) was sent for. He came up on his car, and with Dr. Rowe operated on the patient on Monday. The operation was not successful, the young man dying on Wednesday evening at 11 p.m. Wordy was a bright lad just turned 21 years of age, a favorite with everybody, always to the fore with any kind of sport, and will be greatly missed. The deepest sympathy is felt by all classes of the community with the parents in their sad loss.
