Died from Accidental drowning

He and another fellow were cutting firewood, camped on the Bangall, when a lot of rain in the night caused flooding through their camp. In their attempt to get to higher ground, they were both washed away. The other fellow managed to climb a tree and walked back to the station for help, and a search for Toole discovered his body.

Morning Bulletin Wednesday 26 March 1924
Sub-inspector Duffy, Longreach, has been advised by the Muttaburra police that the body of Thomas Toole has been found about 120 yards from the place at which the accident occurred in the floods at Bangall Creek some weeks ago, in which the unfortunate man was swept away and drowned. The deceased was a son of Mrs. Toole, who at one time kept the Australian Hotel at Muttaburra. He was about twenty-seven years of age.
