Another well-known identity, Herbert Murphy, also passed away during the week after a short illness. Deceased was 54 years old, and had resided all his life in Muttaburra.
Of a retiring disposition, he had been a semi invalid for some years, but was known for his punctuality on election days, always being first to record his vote. He is survived by sisters, Mesdames Ramage (Longreach), Vale (Barcaldine), T. Smith and R. Shawcrosse (Brisbane) and three brothers, Messrs. W. Murphy (Brisbane), and R. and B. Murphy (Longreach).
