Robert, general servant, the son of Henry Rattray, a surface man, and Euphemia Giffin.
He was only 23 year when he died, at Ambo, from internal inflammation which he had suffered from for a week. The chemist, Henry Edward Woodruff from Muttaburra last saw him on 16 September 1883. He was buried at Ambo Station on the 17 October 1883 by M Pattenden with John James Miller and George Buracott as witnesses.
Robert’s wife Agnes Berry was the informant of his death. They had only been married a short period and moved to Queensland about three weeks before his death.
