Cause of Death: Accident, collision on horseback. Location of William’s grave is between the House and the Shearing Shed.

I am just in receipt of news of a sad accident having occurred at Reedy Creek, an outstation of Bowen Downs, resulting in the death of a young man named William Cox. It appears that he with a couple of other employees were returning to the head station from one of the paddocks, Cox being some distance in front of the others, when the latter unknown to him started racing, with the result that they cannoned into the unfortunate man, who was thrown and killed instantly. Mr. S. P. Fraser went out and held a magisterial inquiry and ordered his burial. The depositions have been forwarded to the Crown Law Offices.
