Edmund married Annie Augusta Campbell on the 11th October 1879 [Ref: 1879/000675] and is the father of Fanny Marion Butler who died on the 29th March 1882 and is buried in the Muttaburra Cemetery.

Annie Augusta Butler the wife of Edmund Henry Butler died just a few months after giving birth to her daughter Fanny Marion. Annie was the daughter of Moore Neil Campbell and Fanny Deliste. It is not known where she is buried but it is likely to be Bimbah.

Edmund and Annie had two children: Edmund Campbell born 25 July 1880 and Fanny Marion who was born on 4th November 1881 and died on 29 March 1882. Edmund was at one stage an overseer at Bowen Downs and helped track down the cattle that were stolen by Harry Readford.

Edmund remarried Catherine Esther Crorin and they had four children: Thomas John born 29 December 1886, Henry Edmund born 8 April 1887, twins Norman Patrick Pierce and Frances Catherine born 8 March 1889
