Harris, Henry Louis

Henry was born in 1856 in Melbourne dying in 5 April 1927 in Sydney.

Dr Henry Harris was the first doctor in Muttaburra. Qualifying on the 6th August 1880 and was working as the Medical Practitioner in October 1880 [exact date he commenced work in Muttaburra is not known]

A very interesting ceremony took place at the Jewish Synagogue, Brisbane, on Wednesday, the 36th ultimo, before a very large assemblage of people of all sects, the occasion being the marriage of Dr H L Harris, of Muttaburra, a young gentleman just entering on the practice of his honourable profession, with Miss Lena Solomon, daughter of the late J M Solomon, esq, of Adelaide.

Harris’ first-born Reginald Alfred Harris born 9 Jan 1882 was born in Muttaburra, also Vera Flora, born in Sydney in 1883, and Eileen Stella born Sydney 1887.
