MUTTABURRA
The death occurred on March 17, in the Muttaburra Hospital, of Mr James John Delaney, aged 61, an old resident of Muttaburra. Mr Delaney came to Muttaburra in 1907 and for 17 years has been a member of the Muttaburra Hospital committee, for 15 years a vice-president. He was also chairman of works of that committee; a member and one-time secretary of the Muttaburra State School committee, and took an active interest in the Western Queensland Children’s Jubilee Health Association. He was also a vice-president of the Muttaburra Cricket Club.
He was predeceased by his wife 11 years ago and is survived by one step-daughter, three daughters, and one son. The Rev. Father M. V. Lynam, Longreach, came by air taxi to officiate at a pre-burial service at St Mary’s Church, Muttaburra, and at the graveside on Thursday afternoon.
