PERSONAL.

With reference to the death of Leslie Hillcoat, third son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hillcoat, of Wolvi, which is announced in another column, we are informed that it was due to blood poisoning, following, it is understood, upon the “stopping” of some of the youth’s teeth at Muttaburra (C.Q.) last week. Information of the seriousness of his condition was received by his parents on Monday, and by a mid-night railway train his father left for the North; the sad news of the death of his son would reach him at Gladstone. The deceased was a fine enterprising youth of 17½ years, and bade fair to make his way in the world. He left home about 18 months ago, and, obtaining employment on Westbury sheep station, near Muttaburra, gave such satisfaction to the manager that after six months’ experience, he was made one of the overseers of the holding.
