DEATH AT BOWEN DOWNS.
OUR correspondent writes under date October 14th:-Mrs. Wm. Ford, the wife of an oldservant on Bowen Downs, died and was buried yesterday. The poor woman had been ailing for some little time, and Mrs. S. P. Fraser hearing of it, drove to the woolshed (where the Ford family were living) to see how she was. Mrs. Fraser at once saw that the case was serious, and had the patient brought to her (Mrs Fraser’s) house. The Muttaburra doctor was sent for on two occasions, and did all he could. Mr. and Mrs. Fraser gave the most careful and unremitting attention to the patient, watching in turn with the poor woman’s husband day and night, but in spite of all their care and attention, she breathed her last about 2 p.m. yesterday, and was followed to her last resting place by a large number of the station employees. She leaves a family of seven children, the youngest being quite a baby.
