MRS. W.M. BULLEN.
It is with deep regret that we announce the death, at the Private Hospital, on Tuesday last, of Mrs. William Bullen, late of Kingfisher Street, Longreach. By her death nine children, whose ages range from 15 years to 6 months, mourn the loss of a devoted mother and a husband the loss of a devoted wife.
The deceased lady had been suffering from pneumonia for three weeks, and this was the immediate cause of death, but it is understood that she had been ailing, though uncomplainingly, for some considerable time. The funeral took place on Wednesday, the Rev. Father Jones officiating, and a large number of relatives and friends attended at the graveside to pay their last respects to one who had been so well-known in this district for a number of years.
The late Mrs. Bullen who was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. J. McCarthy, of Muttaburra, was only 34 years of age at the time of her death, and came to Muttaburra when she was two months old, so that she was really a native of the district, and had lived in Muttaburra and Longreach all her life. The eldest son of the deceased lady is at present staying with Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Coade at Dundee, while the other children are making their home with Mr. and Mrs. McCarthy at Muttaburra for the time being.
