In my work to find descendants to my great great grandfather Eric Ericsson of Ramsbergs bruk, Sweden – an estate that has been in the Ericsson family for 200 years – I found a letter from his daughter’s son addressed to his son’s son Harald M Ericsson (my great grandfather) at Ramsbergs bruk. The letter is written in May 1882. The cousin called himself W H Bennett, but his name in birth was Erik Gustaf Hjalmar Allström, born Sept 8th 1835 in the parish of Fellingsbro, Sweden. Hjalmar left Sweden in 1854.

The letter describes well the life for the first white residents in the Outback and I thought the letter may have some interest.

Among the gravestones on your web page I have found two Bennetts, one Rycen and one Shute that I am certain are related to me.
