Comment | Grave whereabouts unknown. Plaque erected by David Langdon on 14 November 2005 Died from a Strangulated Hernia caused after a horse fall approx 5 weeks previous. Copy of the police report: Senior Const James Nixon Reg. No 579 reports that Const Wm Doyle Reg. No 601 of this station died in the Muttaburra Hospital at 8 a.m. the 19th inst. On the 3rd inst he reported himself sick and was attended by the Government Medical Officer [Dr Egan]. He was attached to this station since 5th July last. On the 11th November last the Sen. Const. sent him to Klugh’s selection about 3 miles from Muttaburra to take possession of a mare subject of prosecution Regina v Wm Williamson, he took possession of the mare and on his return to the station with her, reported that when cutting the mare out from a mob of horses his horse fell with him and gave him a severe fall which burst the buttons of his trousers.
